Jim Cielinski

Global Head of Fixed Income

Jim Cielinski is Global Head of Fixed Income at Janus Henderson Investors, a position he has held since 2017. He oversees all of the global fixed income products and teams and leads Corporate Credit as well. Previously, Jim was the global head of fixed income for Columbia Threadneedle Investments from 2010. Prior to joining Columbia Threadneedle, he spent 12 years at Goldman Sachs Asset Management as managing director and head of credit. Before that, he was head of fixed income for Utah Retirement Systems, assistant manager of taxable fixed income for Brown Brothers Harriman & Co., and an equity portfolio manager for First Security Investment Management.

Jim received bachelor of science degrees in management and finance from the University of Utah and an MBA with a concentration in finance from New York University, Stern School of Business. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and has 39 years of financial industry experience.

Jeremiah Buckley, CFA

Portfolio Manager

Jeremiah Buckley is a Portfolio Manager at Janus Henderson Investors responsible for co-managing the US Growth & Income and Balanced strategies. Jeremiah joined Janus in 1998 as a research analyst covering the consumer, industrials, financials, media, software, and telecommunications sectors. He was Janus’ consumer sector lead for 10 years before transitioning to full-time portfolio management.

Jeremiah earned his bachelor of arts degree in economics from Dartmouth College, graduating Phi Beta Kappa. While there, he received the Class of ’39 scholarship for academic and athletic achievement and the Class of ’48 male scholar-athlete of the year award. He was also selected for the 1998 Academic All-Ivy Hockey Team and served as the men’s hockey captain from 1997 to 1998. Jeremiah holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and has 25 years of financial industry experience.

Steve Cain

Portfolio Manager, Alternatives

Steve Cain is a Portfolio Manager at Janus Henderson Investors, a position he has held since joining Henderson in 2010. Prior to Henderson, Steve ran Kurtosis Capital Partners. He was a partner as well as a volatility and macro portfolio manager at JWM Partners from 2006 to 2009. From 2004 to 2006, he was founding partner and currency and macro portfolio manager at Nylon Capital. In 2002, he was managing director, head of macro strategies at Shumway Capital Partners. Steve started his career in 1987 in investment banking. Between 1987 and 2002, he held a variety of roles managing currency and emerging market businesses at numerous global investment banks.

Steve received a BA degree (Hons) in philosophy, politics, and economics from Oxford University. He has 35 years of financial industry experience.

Global Head of Portfolio Construction and Strategy

Adam Hetts is Global Head of Portfolio Construction and Strategy at Janus Henderson Investors. In this role, he leads the Portfolio Construction and Strategy Team that is focused on delivering actionable investment strategy and thought leadership to help clients in all aspects of the investment management process. From 2011 until joining Janus in 2017, he was vice president, senior portfolio strategist with Goldman Sachs Asset Management in New York, leading efforts in the U.S. and Asia Pacific regions. Prior to that, Adam worked with Goldman Sachs Principal Strategies, a proprietary hedge fund, and as a corporate strategist within Goldman Sachs Asset Management. Earlier in his career, he was a consultant with The Law and Economic Consulting Group in Washington, D.C.

Adam earned his bachelor of science in finance with a concentration in accounting from Pennsylvania State University. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and FINRA Series 24, 7, and 63 securities licenses. Adam has 17 years of financial industry experience.
